Paint Modifier , commonly known as paint, is a kind of matching functional material which can be coated on the surface of an object and form a continuous film with firm adhesion. At present, various polymer synthetic resins are widely used as raw materials of coatings. There are two functions of coating: the first is to protect metal and wood from corrosion; the second is to decorate automobiles, daily appliances, equipment, furniture, etc.
Coating is generally composed of four components: film-forming substance solvent, pigment or filler, and auxiliary agent.Film forming substance: mainly composed of resin. It also includes some nonvolatile active diluents. It is the main material that makes the coating firmly adhere to the surface of the coated material to form a continuous film, is the base material of the coating, and determines the basic characteristics of the coating.
Organic solvent or water: dispersion medium.Pigments and fillers: mainly used for coating coloring and improving the performance of the coating, enhancing the protection, decoration and rust prevention of the coating.
There are many kinds of coatings with different classification methods. According to the dispersion state of film-forming materials and pigments, there are solvent-based coating, solvent-free coating, dispersed suspension coating, water emulsion coating and powder coating, etc.
According to the classification of pigments, the colored opaque or translucent paint containing pigments is called color paint. The paint without pigment is called varnish, and the thick paste with a lot of physical pigment is called putty.
