(1) Mah type. Cyclic anhydrides are the most commonly used reactive compatibilizers. Among them, the main compatibilizer is maleic anhydride grafted on polyolefin, and its grafting rate is generally 0.8% – 1.0%, which is mainly used in the modification of polyolefin plastics. The Maleic Anhydride Grafted Compatibilizer of binary or multicomponent copolymerization of maleic anhydride grafted to PS or PS as matrix can be applied to the modification, blending or alloy of PA / PC, ABS / GF and PA / ABS. The general dosage is 5% – 8%.
However, this kind of compatibilizer may reduce the thermal deformation temperature of the plastic alloy, and easily make the blend components form unnecessary crosslinking and degradation, so that the reaction can no longer be controlled. It is mainly used in PP / PA6, PP / PA66 and other alloys or blends. The general dosage is 5% – 8%.
(2) Carboxylic acid type. The representative products of carboxylic acids are acrylic compatibilizers. Acrylic acid is usually grafted onto polyolefin resin for the same purpose as maleic anhydride.
(3) Epoxy type. Epoxy reactive compatibilizer is a graft copolymerization of epoxy resin or a compound with epoxy group and other polymers. This type of reaction can play a good role in compatibility.
(4) Oxazoline type. PS, or RPS, grafted with oxazoline, is an important compatibilizer with a grafting rate of 1%. It is characterized by a wide range of applications. It can react not only with general polymers containing amino or carboxyl groups, but also with carbonyl, anhydrides and epoxy groups to form graft copolymers. Therefore, it can be used in PS and many kinds of engineering plastics or modified polyolefin resin. In addition, it can also be “in situ” compatibilized and directly used in plastic modification, blending and alloy.
(5) Imide type. The imide type is modified polyacrylate, which is mainly suitable for PA / PO, PC / PO, PA / PC and other engineering plastic alloys or blends.
(6) Isocyanate type. Its composition is m-isopropyl-2,2-dimethylbenzoyl isocyanate. It can be used in engineering plastic alloy containing amino and carboxyl groups.
(7) Low molecular type. The low molecular compatibilizer is a reactive compatibilizer, which uses reactive monomers and low molecular weight polymers, including some organic and inorganic compounds that can be compatible with one component synthesized by plastics and react, cross-linked or bond with another component, thus forming plastic alloy. In this way, not only the process of making plastic alloy is simplified, but also the raw materials are easy to obtain and the cost is low. However, the requirements for extruders are high. The use of mixed extruders is an important key to the production of low molecular compatibilizers.
